WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO), which recently announced its second-annual CRO Innovation Month, has announced its 2015 Legislators of the Year, U.S. Rep. Patrick Meehan (R-PA) and U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (R-CO). DeGette helped to launch the 21st Century Cures initiative, which passed the House in July 344-77, thanks to the efforts of both representatives. Meehan has a long history of supporting economic policies that promote research and development, as well as funding for important research for some of the most pressing conditions.

“In Congressman Meehan and Congresswoman DeGette, ACRO is recognizing two outstanding legislators who understand not only the important role clinical research plays in advancing medical innovation but also the economic benefits it brings to communities across the country,” Dr. Doug Peddicord, ACRO executive director, said in a press release.
