Salmon fibrin, SEA-133 and SEA-135 is a unique non-mammalian ECM that supports proliferation and differentiation of human neural stem/progenitor cells (hNSPCs), adipose-derived stem cells and other stem cells. This ECM, derived from the plasma of farmed salmon, stimulates greater hNSPC proliferation than mammalian fibrin and enhances vascularization. Salmon fibrin is biocompatible, polymerizes in situ and is free of mammalian pathogens. Combination scaffolds of salmon fibrin and hyaluronic acid generate compliant hydrogels matching the physical properties of brain tissue.
