Global CROs announce merger

FORT WASHINGTON, Pa.—In a move that will create a contract research organization (CRO) with a presence in the U.S., U.K. and the Asia-Pacific region, FMD K&L Inc. and iMEDGlobal Corporation have entered in a merger agreement. The transaction is expected to result in cost and revenue synergies and allow the merged entity to offer a broader range of services to an expanded customer base. FMD K&L brings with it extensive experience in CRO services such as clinical operations, data management, biostatistics, statistical programming and e-submissions/CDISC, while iMEDGlobal offers a service inventory across pharmacovigilance, regulatory, toxicology and medical affairs. No financial details were released.
 
“The merger itself resulted in achieving synergies in terms of better geographical coverage, a stronger talent force and a more comprehensive service menu for our clients in the life-sciences industry,” said Dr. Dan Zhang, FMD’s executive chairman. “Further, the company will be better positioned to take up large-scale projects in new and existing markets.”
