CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Genome-editing company Intellia Therapeutics Inc. is gaining some growing room with the announcement that it would be moving its new laboratory facilities to Cambridge, Mass. The new headquarters was designed with an eye toward Intellia’s expanding R&D, operations teams and administrative staff, boosting the company’s total laboratory and office space from 15,000 square feet to more than 80,000 square feet as well as allowing Intellia to double its number of employees to more than 200.

“Intellia Therapeutics’ new headquarters is a testament to the potential of the company and the promise their transformative gene therapy represents to patients and their families living with severe and life-threatening diseases,” commented Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker. “The innovations coming out of Massachusetts have a dramatic impact across the global life sciences sector, and we look forward to Intellia Therapeutics’ continued growth and contributions to this field.”
