Sanofi, DNDi ink collaboration agreement
July 2011
SHARING OPTIONS:

PARIS—Sanofi and Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi) have signed a three- year research collaboration agreement to investigate new treatments for nine neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). The diseases are listed by the World Health Organization as urgently needing new, adapted and efficient tools to treat patients in endemic countries. Nine NTDs are covered in the agreement, including kinetoplastid diseases (leishmaniases, Chagas disease and human African trypanosomiasis), helminth infections (lymphatic filariasis, onchocerciasis and soil-transmitted helminthiasis) and dracunculiasis, fascioliasis and schistosomiasis. Sanofi will provide molecules from its libraries and collaborate with DNDi in research activities on innovative molecular scaffolds. Both parties will co-own the partnership's results and work toward the publication of the results.
