CDx tests form basis of Ventana, Boehringer Ingelheim deal

TUCSON, Ariz.—Ventana Medical Systems Inc., a member of the Roche Group, has announced that it will collaborate with Boehringer Ingelheim to develop companion diagnostic tests for certain of the latter’s oncology programs. Under the terms of the agreement, Ventana will make use of its immunohistochemistry technology platform and expertise in support of Boehringer Ingelheim’s personalized medicine healthcare strategies for oncology drug development. Financial terms were not disclosed.
 
“We look forward to partnering with Ventana and accessing their significant capabilities and expertise in developing companion diagnostics that will complement our products to further advance the delivery of personalized healthcare solutions for patients,” Klaus Dugi, corporate senior vice president of Medicine at Boehringer Ingelheim, said in a news release.
