Immunomic Therapeutics lands $1.2M DoD grant
July 2015
SHARING OPTIONS:

HERSHEY, Pa. & ROCKVILLE, Md.—The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) recently awarded Immunomic Therapeutics Inc. (ITI) a $1.2-million grant for the development of ITI’s ARA-LAMP-vax technology against peanut allergies. The terms of the grant stipulate that ITI will use the funding to produce its ARA-LAMP-vax and perform biodistribution and toxicology studies in animal models to conclude preclinical work and prepare the vaccine for a Phase 1 safety trial in humans, per an agreed-upon pre-IND plan with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

“This grant underscores the importance of finding a viable and permanent solution to peanut allergies,” said Dr. Teri Heiland, vice president of R&D at ITI. “The fact that peanut allergies are pervasive in our society and potentially deadly has been brought to the attention of the DoD, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to help discover and provide a solution.”
