NuGEN, Kreatech forge deal for fragmentation and labeling module
SAN CARLOS, Calif.—NuGEN Technologies, Inc., a developer of highly sensitive nucleic acid amplification and labeling systems, and Kreatech Biotechnology, a maker of innovative labeling products for diagnostic and research applications, announced an agreement that will enable NuGEN to market FL-Ovation cDNA fluorescent modules designed to complement its family of Ovation RNA amplification products.
Together, the systems will provide life science researchers with a flexible and sensitive RNA sample preparation workflow for use on Agilent DNA microarrays for gene expression analysis.
The non-exclusive agreement calls for Kreatech to supply components for a NuGEN-validated fragmentation and labeling system for one- and two-color microarray analysis utilizing its patented Universal Linkage System technology for labeling with Cy3 and Cy5 mono NHS esters which are licensed by NuGEN from GE Healthcare.
The NuGEN FL-Ovation cDNA fluorescent modules, along with the NuGEN Ovation RNA amplification family of products, will help researchers unlock discoveries hidden within a broad range of samples including FFPE, LCM, blood, saliva, tissue biopsies, and others.
NuGEN plans to launch the new product this fall. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
