Germany’s CEVEC licenses human cell line to Malaysian CMO
January 2010
SHARING OPTIONS:

COLOGNE, Germany— German firm CEVEC Pharmaceuticals GmbH announced in December that it licensed its human CAP technology to Inno Biologics Sdn Bhd, a contract manufacturer in Malaysia, for an undisclosed sum. The license enables Inno Biologics to incorporate the CAP expression system, a stable producing human cell line, into the production of its diagnostic and preclinical grade material. Inno Biologics is a member of the Boehringer Ingelheim Production Alliance Network Biologics and the MIT Centre for Biomedical Innovation.

"This agreement between our strategic manufacturing partner Inno Biologics and the innovation partner CEVEC extends the technical capability represented in our Production Alliance Network for contract manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals into human cell line technology for manufacturing of highly glycosylated therapeutical proteins," says Dr. Rolf Werner, senior vice president of Boehringer Ingelheim's corporate biopharmaceuticals division.
