Biosearch expands Roche license to manufacture kits for in vitro diagnostics market

NOVATO, Calif.Biosearch Technologies Inc., a supplier of oligonucleotide components to the molecular diagnostics industry, announced in March that the company has expanded its licenses from Roche Molecular Systems Inc., giving Biosearch the right to manufacture and sell validated kits to the in vitro diagnostic marketplace as licensed products covered by multiple patents assigned to Roche. Kits sold to this industry will comprise of probes, primers, enzymes and any other essential reagents necessary to amplify and detect diagnostic targets. The original licensing agreement, signed in September 2009, covered the 5' nuclease process and H1N1 and influenza A sub-typing signatures.
